Mae Sai – the northernmost city in Thailand – was my home for a long time. Now I live in Chiang Rai, the capital of the province of the same name – an area that offers many excursion destinations and sights.
After my time with an NGO (non-governmental aid organization), I stayed here, not only because I think the area is beautiful and the cost of living is low. I had been in love with Thailand for a long time. But I never thought that I would also fall in love with a Thai woman. Now I’m also one of the many German men who are married to a Thai woman here.
I love Thailand. I hope you can feel that in this blog. I was here for the first time in 1986 and this country has never let go of me. A lot has changed since then. What has remained is the delicious food, the excellent infrastructure for traveling, the beautiful nature and the friendly and helpful Thais
As I also cycle a lot in the Land of Smiles, you will also find many articles on the subject. For me, it’s not only my favorite sport, but also a great way to experience the country – in the truest sense of the word. I get close to the people and get to visit places where tourists are a rare sight.
I hope you find inspiration, information and entertainment here on my blog. Comments under the articles are always welcome and will always be answered.
I finance part of the effort for this website with product recommendations. If you buy something through the link of my recommendation, I often get a small commission. Important: I do not recommend anything that I am not sure is helpful or supportive.
And now have fun browsing, reading and discovering!
Best wishes from Chiang Rai, the northernmost province of Thailand
