Hotel Test Lat Krabang – Hotels at Suvarnabhumi Airport

From time to time I try out new hotels when I have to sleep at Bangkok airport. The hotels in Lat Krabang have some advantages. Today I present the “Hometel Suphan Lake“.

The Suphan Lake in Lat Krabang at Bangkok airport is called “Hometel”. It is also very cosy. From almost every room you can see a small garden with high trees. Behind it you can sense a park.

I felt good right away. Although there are planes taking off – how could it be different in a hotel near the airport – it seemed very quiet to me. Nice.

By taxi from Suvarnabhumi Airport the trip cost 160 Baht including the airport tax of 50 Baht. But the taxi driver had warned me. In the evening there is a lot of traffic here and one needs accordingly longer. So it was in the evening when I took a taxi from the station Lat Krabang of the Airport-Link to the hotel. The ride cost only 100 Baht, but it took quite long because of traffic jams. Well, but the conversation with the taxi driver was entertaining. The question whether the driver was born in Bangkok is always my first question. Mostly they come from the province, but have lived here for a long time. Enthusiasm is triggered when you can tell that you have been there before and what you liked most about it.

I paid 680 Baht for the overnight stay in Suphan Lake Hometel, which I think is a very good value for money. So it is also rated by Booking.com with 8,4 points (out of 10).

In the neighboring park there is a bicycle or walking circuit and a small lake. However, I could not find out where I can rent a bike nearby. So I had to renounce cycling, but did two laps on foot. The next entrance from the hotel is at this café ร้านกาแฟหลังสวน

Nearby there is of course a 7/11 and several small restaurants, all within easy walking distance. Unfortunately my positive impression was clouded a little bit because the Wi-Fi connection was anything but stable. Luckily I have a SIM card with decent volume and speed, so I could connect my computer via hotspot. Read my tips if you want to use a SIM card like this for your stay, too. To get to the city, you can also use the Airport-Link. The station Lat Krabang is about 7 to 8 km away. There you can either take one of the red Songthaews for 7 Baht or a taxi for about 90 to 100 Baht.

My reference for hotels in Lat Krabang at Bangkok airport is the Great Residence Hotel. Here the direct comparison:
